Carotid Artery Disease
Carotid artery disease occurs when the major arteries in the neck become narrowed or blocked and can lead to stroke or transient ischemic attacks. Carotid artery disease usually
does not cause symptoms in early stages. It can be detected through physical exam or ultrasound. Treatments range from medications to surgery and newer, minimally invasive techniques
to repair the blockages. |
