UConn Cardiovascular Advanced Imaging Center
Patient and Provider Resources
Research
We are pleased to introduce the UConn Cardiovascular Advanced Imaging Center, a joint endeavor at the UConn Health Center between the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Therapeutics and the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center. Within the advanced imaging center, experts in the fields of radiology and cardiology use cutting-edge technologies for the diagnosis and management of cardiac disorders. We use a wide range of protocols for transthoracic and transesophogeal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, 3D echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT.
Our goal is to provide quality care using the most up-to-date imaging modalities. We are actively engaged in research, with participation in a host of national and international trials. We work in collaboration with major national academic centers, including the Massachusetts General Hospital.
If you are a physician interested in ordering an imaging study, our streamlined ordering processes are fast and easy to use. Most patients can be scheduled within a week. And our specialists are always available for phone consultation if you have questions about which tests are most appropriate for your patient. For information on how to schedule a test, see the Services page. Referring physicians can reach Drs. Avelar, Meng or Ryan by calling 860-679-3343, or Drs. Yang and Kaloudis by calling 860-679-1458.
